Hearts on the Ground Aug. 09, 2009
My very first open mic: Songwriters nights at "THE BLUEBIRD CAFE", Nashville TN
"Hearts on the Ground" is a song I wrote in Nashville and recently recorded as a duet. It will be on my upcoming cd. This was such an exciting night in the packed infamous Bluebird Cafe and the very first time I sang my original music in front of strangers, musician, and other songwriters. Here's a clip from 2008. Thankyou roommate Sally for taking these and being there with me.
End of our fantasy year long trip! Apr. 23, 2008
Hiya
Sal gal and I are starting to realize just how close we are to the
end of our lease and the end of our fantasy year long trip. I’m saying
right now that I plan to come back to Nashville once a year for the
rest of my life so anyone who wants to come with me, start getting
ready. You have over a year to start planning. I’ll have to keep coming
back to check on the little piece of my heart that I’ll leave behind.
It would be great to show it to you when I rediscover it year after
year. Speaking of, it’s time for tequila and pool. I will sip it for
you U. Butch and Dad! I will catch up with you all soon. Love yous
Hugs

I'm coming home in April for a couple of days¦ Mar. 12, 2008
Hey Guys!
Guess what? I'm coming home in April for a couple of days to start working on my cd again. Tn has put a bit of a hult on the project but my producer Mike Myers and I are back on track and I have a lot of new songs that I can't wait to put on the cd. Then you can finally see another side of me. I'm so excited. There are so many songs that I want to put on the cd but we also want to finish it this year so we've had to cut a few. I will keep you informed with any updates. Speaking of songwriting, I love the bluebird but I recently tried out a new songwriter's night at the Commodore Lounge in West End and to my surprise, I ran into JIM FEMINO. If you don't know him, look him up on MySpace. He's a brilliant songwriter from our neck the woods in Pa and is really hilarious and absolutely genuinely great to talk to. We (Buck Wyld) covered two of his songs, one being Asphalt in Arkansas. I met him quick at our first annual Yee-Haw at the Fleetwood fire company, but now to run into him, was so cool. He sounded so good that night singing one song after another. He had to run to the CMT studio but then I took a seat on the stage and sang "Next To You". This is one of my newest songs which I wrote for Joe and I decided the second before I sang that I would play this slow song. I was the last songwriter of the night which almost made it feel even more special and intimate. I received some of the most important compliments I could have ever heard that night. My healing voice didn't give me any problems and my heart was absolutely laying out on my guitar. Everything felt so vulnerable but safe and right. I haven't been able to take any of my friends or family that have visited me to an open mic but maybe when my parents come next week, we will make get to one. The rest of the music-filled week will be of my father 10 steps in front of me walking to the next Irish session after the next and my mother just smiling at me as I try to follow in his footsteps and not get tired. Dad, I can't wait to play some new tunes with you. Honestly, I've been practicing!!!!!
Hiya! Just an update on me in Nashville Feb. 02, 2008
So, I just had to tell yous that I met Trent Tomlinson last weekend.
Yeah I did! It was cool because it was a very small bar called “ The Wheel”
and he was all of the sudden singing on stage. I later talked with him.
I told him that my old band and I openned up for him in Allentown at
the Crocodile Rock
last year. I thought it would open up some sort of slight conversation
but… nah. He didn’t really care much, or maybe he couldn’t hear me
since it was obviously a very cool thing for him to find out. Either
way, I broke the silence with a fan moment, “Can we take a picture? So
I got it. I haven’t really asked many people for pictures but I almost
had to at that moment. Ha ha ha. I also met Mark Chesnutt that night
but he was in a huge sweatshirt and Sally totally blew him off. It was
so funny. Good times.
Hey Everyone! Jan. 02, 2008
So first I wanted to thank you for checking out my new website www.hannahviolet.com.
It’s got some ways to go yet but thanks to Sarah and Tony I’ve got my
own way of sharing pictures and stories of Nashville with you. I
absolutely love it here. I’ve done so many awesome things ever since
the very first day I arrived in July. I went to the CMA awards and was
in the bar afterwards when “John Rich” walked in with Cowboy Troy!!! I
met some other country singers but just could not get close enough to
George Strait. All I could do was just stare and call out to him in
desperation, in a packed concert venue. Ha ha ha, I also saw Keith
Urban introduce Sara Evans to Nicole Kidman in the first row! I don’t
know why but I thought that was so cool. Did anyone see the show and
Miranda Lambert? Her hair was crazy and she was awesome. Man, she is
IT. Since then I’ve been keeping my smile on at work at the Gaylord
Opryland Hotel. I’m a front desk agent for the largest non-gambling
hotel in the country with almost 3,000 rooms. It’s remarkable. I’m
actually a trainer now and really enjoy it. I have one favor of you
all. If you are in a bad mood, just try to be nice to people if they
are being nice to you. We’ve got to teach the mean people out there
that they suck and we live a better life doing it our way. But I know
that none of you are that way so I love you all for that. Well, it’s
time to go downtown so I will be in touch. Remember, pay it forward in
any way that you can. I’m really trying to live by that now. ok
anyways, have a great night everyone.
